“1000 Airplanes on the Roof” is a “science fiction music drama” by Glass and David Henry Hwang that follows its protagonist M’s experiences of alien life forms, and the messages these visitations bring. The video, directed by Mickalene Thomas, certainly seems to embrace the disorientating and kaleidoscopic effect an alien visitation must have.
